Overview of the Ductile Iron Pipes
It has been more than 70 years since the invention of ductile iron pipe in the 1940s. With its high strength, high elongation, corrosion resistance, resistance to shock, easy construction and many other fine features, ductile iron pipe is the best choice in today’s world for conveying water and gas safely. Ductile iron, also called nodular iron or spheroidal graphite iron, is characterized by the presence of spheroidal graphite in the resultant castings.

Characters of the Ductile Iron Pipes
Ductile iron pipes are available in a range of diameters from 80 mm to 2000 mm and are suitable for both potable water transmission and distribution (in accordance with BS EN 545) and sewerage (in accordance with BS EN 598). Ductile iron pipes are simple to joint, can be laid in all weather conditions and often without the need for selected backfill. Its high safety factor and ability to accommodate ground movement make it the ideal pipeline material for a wide range of applications.
Grades of Ductile Iron Pipe We Can Supply
The following table is showing all the ductile iron material grades for each country. If you are American, then you could choose 60-40-18, 65-45-12, 70-50-05 etc., if you are from Australia, then you could choose 400-12, 500-7, 600-3 etc.

Ductile Iron Applications
Ductile iron has greater strength and ductility than gray iron. Those properties allow it to be used effectively in a wide variety of industrial applications, including pipe, automotive components, wheels, gear boxes, pump housings, machine frames for the wind-power industry, and many more. Because it does not fracture like gray iron, ductile iron is also safe to use in impact-protection applications, such as bollards.
