Overview
Steel hexagonal bar is a highly versatile engineering material. Typical applications include fasteners including bolts and nuts and in the production of repetitively turned parts. Steel is a cost-effective material which is recyclable. With good strength, workability and formability, it is one of the most popular engineering materials.
JINDALAI offers cold drawn carbon hex bar in a variety of sizes. The 1018 is a low carbon steel with strength and ductility suited for a variety of fabrication processes including welding and machining. The 1215 and 12L14 free machining carbon hex bar screw stocks are useful for machined parts requiring close finish tolerances, while 1045 carbon hex bar is found in axles, bolts, forged connecting rods, crankshafts, torsion bars and light gears, among other applications.
Advantages of cold drawn processing
- It can remove the Size and Section which provides Tighter tolerances which Reduces machining losses.
- It can remove the Steel Surface Finish which Reduces surface machining & improves quality.
- It can remove the Straightness which Facilitates automatic bar feeding in CNC.
- It can increase the Mechanical Properties which Can reduce the need for hardening.
- It can improve the Machinability and Productivity which Enables higher machining feeds, high tool life, yield & speeds and improved machined finish.
